Trail riding’s never been more interesting — or fun – thanks to the American Competitive Trail Horse Association. The ACTRA has trail ride competitions throughout the nation, including several scheduled in California. These are non-timed, 6-10 mile rides with judged obstacles (mostly natural) along the way. Each obstacle has its own judge. Riders are encouraged to ride with a group, family, or friends. The trail rides usually take from 2-3 hours, provide a natural setting for your horse and are a lot of fun!
