By now you’ve seen in this issue of the Horsetrader all the buzz about the upcoming Equine Affaire Trade Show in Pomona – what’s new, what’s happening, what’s up, what’s down. We’d love to give you the scoop on what we’ll be launching starting at Equine Affaire, but we can’t – it’s a secret! But as you schedule your day(s) at this annual get-together at the L.A. County Fairgrounds, but sure you make us one of your stops so we can show you what we have for our readers and advertisers!

Speaking of the trade show…it’s one of our most popular issues of the year, so be sure you get your ad in early! Deadline is Jan. 24 for the big Feb. 3 Equine Affaire issue!

Are we really talking about February already?! Wow…the 2011 NSHA Classic Horse Sale is just around the corner! The sale will be held Saturday, Feb. 26 at 5 p.m. at the International Agri-Center in Tulare during the NSHA Classic event (Feb. 23-27). The NSHA Stallion Service Auction is also currently running, with all of the money raised from the auction being used as added money for the NSHA Futurity and Classic. More news from the NSHA – the Grant Berg Benefit Clinic held Jan. 9 at Casner’s Ranch in Temecula raised more than $11,000 for the family of Mike and Kristi Berg, whose young son, Grant, is suffering from Dandy Walkers Syndrome. The California Horsetrader congratulates the NSHA and those who participated in the great fund-raiser. The NSHA and the Bergs also wish to thank the public for such strong support. The NSHA will be holding another auction benefit at the NSHA Classic. Items can be mailed to the NSHA office or brought to the show. Gaylord Rodeo Co. is set to present the Norco Winter Rodeo Classic 2011 – to be held Feb. 4-5 at Ingalls Park in Norco. The event features special guest announcer, Rob Smets, aka the Kamikaze, who is a five-time World Champion bullfighter and Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame inductee. Come watch courageous cowboys taking on the baddest bucking bulls in the country! Gates open Friday at 5:30 p.m., with the rodeo starting at 7 p.m. Saturday is Military Appreciation Day, and gates will open at 3:30 p.m., with a 5 p.m. rodeo.
