Ralls and Dom Dualuise win ‘Richest’

PASO ROBLES — Phillip Ralls and Dom Dualuise thrilled the house and put themselves on the wall of champions at the 2013 World’s Richest Stock Horse bridle competition held Aug. 17 at the National Stock Horse Association Futurity in the Mid-state Fairgrounds.

Ralls rode Chris Larson’s 6-year-old gelding (Dual Rey x Smart Little XX x Smart Little Lena) to a 882 composite score that handily outdistanced the field, earning $10,050. Jake Telford was reserve champion on Hes Shinettes CD (CD Olena x Sheza Shinette x Shining Spark), owned by Holy Cow Performance Horses, recording a 875.5 composite that earned $8,375.

Corey Cushing rode John Taylor’s The Big Day to third place, capturing $6,700 with a 873 composite. Rounding out the top five were Doug Williamson on Moon Me Pepto (Peptoboonsmal x Lenas Sissy Moon x Doc O’Lena), owned by Rocking J Ranch, finishing in fourth place with a 867.50 that earned $5,025, and Mark Luis on BBR Mardi Gras Time (A Chic In Time x Sable Gal x Peppys Boy 895), who scored 867 and earned $3,350.
