PASO ROBLES — West Coast eventers are flexing their muscle and measuring their moxie as 3-day events line the schedule leading up to the Galway Downs International Event at the end of this month.

Twin Rivers Ranch hosted the Twin Rivers Fall Horse Trials Sept. 17-21, and top competitors and horses brought to life the beautiful Central Coast venue. Bunnie Sexton and Rise Against captured the Open Advanced Championship, outpointing Andrea Baxter and Indy 500 and David Acord aboard Reigns For Justice.

In Open Training Level, James Atkinson and Seychelles claimed the top spot, with Lauren Billys riding Castle Larchfield Purdy to victory in the Open Intermediate.

In Open Preliminary competition, Ruth Bley rode Silver Sage to the win, and she also took Rodrigue Du Granit to the Preliminary Rider titleandwas part of the winning Preliminary Team win that also included Sarah Smith on Street Melody and Sophie Tice on Mojo.

Olivia Loiacono captured the Open Novice Division on Filosophia as well as the Young Horse Event for 4-year olds, and the Open Beginner Novice crown went to Staci Hill riding Platinum CF.

Next up on the eventers itinerary will be the Woodside International Horse Trials at Horse Park at Woodside Oct. 3-5. Galway Downs will then host its International 3-Day Event Oct. 30-Nov. 2.
