SAN MARCOS — New owners of the prime equestrian facility and store in the north Twin Oaks Valley area of San Marcos moved into the facility formerly known as Discovery Valley Equestrian Center on July 13.
Ted and Elaine Olsen closed escrow on the 20-acre property in April, and plans are to re-open the store in August after renovations next month. In the interim, hay and shavings will be available for customers.
New boarders are being accepted in the boarding and training facility, which includes a 220 x 140 ft. covered arena, a 220 x 150 ft. outdoor arena, as well as dressage courts, turn-outs and round pens. A new 40-horse barn also is in the works.
Managing the enterprise will be the husband-and-wife team of resident trainer Eric Antman and store manager Austin Eversman. Antman, a successful trainer in the Saddlebred and Morgan worlds, says the facility at the corner of Twin Oaks Valley Road and Deer Springs Road will be open to new trainers. Eversman intends to expand the horse feed lines and alsocarry premium brands of dog and cat food, as well as a line of equestrian apparel.
Elaine Olsen, who has an extensive dressage background, shows she and her husband’s World Champion Park Harness Morgan stallion, SVP High Definition.
The new Deer Springs Equestrian Center and the Deer Springs Feed and Supply are located at 2333 N. Twin Oaks Valley Road in San Marcos.

This is the place to be; your horse will be in the best hands. It has great staff, the owners really care about your horse, and the facilities are amazing. And they also have a new feed store. We love Deer Springs Equestrian Center!!!!

Congrats on new facility. I am looking for a dressage arena to hold a dressage clinic with Luis Lucio from Spain in June. Wondered if you lease out your facility for events and if so, how much.

Are you looking for a Barn Manager? I have multiple years experience managing and as an assistant trainer for a 50 horse facility. Also worked for a horse Show production company. Would also be able to host your web page. Please call or email me for more info about myself or questions!
