GUTHRIE, Okla. — What a turnout! The Western Dressage Association of America held its 2025 World Show event Sept. 16-20 at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, and the event hosted 145 classes featuring 187 entries riding 1,558 tests — competing for World titles, breed awards, affiliate awards and other special awards.
Twenty-five of California Western Dressage Association’s best riders from California and Nevada, who were joined by some of CAWDA’s best virtual show members from coast to coast, teamed up to win multiple champion, reserve champion, and top 10 placings.
High-scoring junior riders were Jillienne Endresen, Lake Elsinore, who on her horse Calcetines took home two Champion ribbons in Level 1 and four reserve champion ribbons. Jillienne pulled off a champion score of 73.103% in the Level 1 test 4 Junior class.
Zoe Moyer, from Murrieta, rode her horse Rips Ray Jay to a champion Basic Test 1 Junior class, and four reserve champions in Basic and Equitation classes. Zoe also received the CAWDA High Score World Show Buckle for the highest junior rider with a score of 74.231%.
Brooke Adamo, a CAWDA virtual rider from Punta Gorda, Florida, was the third CAWDA junior rider to compete in the World Show. Brooke showed Levels 2 and 3 in the junior division and brought home six champion and one reserve ribbon.
Longtime CAWDA member trainers Renee Gerard Johnson, Kathleen Elliott, Sharon Fiato, Jessica Harlan and Jessie Bonneau brought home a number of wins as well.
Renee Gerard Johnson, of Johnson Equestrian Training in Murrieta, on Laurie Dellosa’s horse, Mtn Edge Miss Utah, and Sharon Fiato on her horse Poppy Jose won champion ribbons in Gaited classes. Poppy Jose also earned his Register of Merit and Register of Achievement in the WDAA Lifetime Awards Program.
Barbara Wood, an amateur rider from Marthasville, Mo., won two Level 2 Gaited classes and a reserve in Level 1 Test 2 Gaited on her horse, Armed Comanche.
Renee Johnson also won championship and reserve awards on Marilu Rajala’s horse, Buttercup; and Deborah Martin’s horse, Santana GWF.
Kathleen Elliott of Kathleen Elliott Equestrian Training in Murrieta brought home a championship and several reserve championships on her Quarter Horse, LW Champagne Ice. Jessica Harlan of Pepper Creek Equine Center in Ramona and Generation won the Level 5 Test 1 class. Several Pepper Creek patrons won awards on their horses as well.
Jessie Bonneau, of JB Horsetraining in Las Vegas, rode her horse Skies The Limitt+/ to victory in two Level 5 classes and went Reserve Champion in the Freestyle Levels 1-5 Test of Choice. She and Skies The Limitt+/ went reserve champion for Level 5 Overall. Jessie also earned her Gold Medal and Skies The Limitt+/ earned his WDAA Supreme Champion title.
Annette Spinetti of Blue Ribbon Dressage in Las Vegas won numerous top 10 placings with her horses, Carbonero Mac, Lincoln and Ronaldo Up, and with Jacqueline Matthew’s horse, Sol RM.
Leslie Browder, an amateur from Las Vegas, won the Western Dressage Seat Combined Equitation Intermediate Amateur class with a score of 77.5%.
A CAWDA Virtual rider, Rosemary Gillies from Katy Texas, rode All That Jazz to the CAWDA High Score World Show Buckle for the highest amateur rider, scoring 75.75% in the Intro Amateur Test 3 class. She also won the Horsemanship Walk-Jog Amateur class.
Other awards given out at the WDAA World Show were to Jami Teer-Murphy of Las Vegas, who received her Bronze and Silver Medals, and Virginia DeLeon’s Thoroughbred horse, Angel, ridden by amateur Patricia Kellerhouse, received its Register of Achievement award.
