LAKE VIEW TERRACE — Eighteen high performance saddles were reportedly boldly stolen in the night recently from the Middle Ranch boarding facility in Lake View Terrace.

The saddles, taken after 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26, were taken from the Meadow Grove Training Stables tack room, and included eight Antares, five Amerigo, one CWD and one Devoucoux saddle.

According to a ranch spokesperson, all saddles had names plates on them. “so there will be holes where they were removed.”

“Most of the saddles will have identifying numbers stamped on them as well,” said the spokesperson. “Obviously they will try to sell them somewhere — now is when the hunter-jumper community unites to protect each other. If we cannot stop them, they will hit again and it could be anyone’s tack room. It was pretty aggressive of them to go into the Middle Ranch training facility and break in.”

Anyone with information either on the theft or on saddles that may be stolen are asked to call 714-797-1404.
