DEL MAR — Ashlee Bond was on fire during the opening week at the Del Mar Fall Equestrian Festival, winning every class and continuing to show the promise of her new, young grand prix horse, Wistful.
Bond and Wistful topped a field of 54 entries for the win in the $30,000 GGT Footing Grand Prix at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, the highlight of the first week of competition during the 12-day DMFEF Oct. 17-28. She topped the only other jump-off entry who managed to master course designer Bernardo Costa Cabral’s technical track, Simon Nizri and Chela LS.
