CRHA’s ‘beginner reining’ clinic July 28 at Green Oaks

Are you ready to start reining? Need help with your horse? Join the California Reining Horse Association for its fabulous Beginner Reiner Clinic on July 28 at Green Oaks Ranch in Temecula. You’ll learn how to fine tune your maneuvers from some great, local California trainers! The rider fee of $150 for the day includes lunch, and if you’d prefer to audit the clinic, you can for just $30. And since you are marking your calendar, make sure you write in the CRHA’s Second Annual “Slide on the Beach Reining Show,” which will be held Aug. 4 at the River Valley Ranch in San Diego. It’s not too early to look at the fall hunter-jumper activity in the Sacramento area! The “Let’s Show” fall schedule is out, and there will be some great events coming up: The A-rated Fall Festival will be held Oct. 3-6 at the Brookside Equestrian Park in Elk Grove, which will host the the Cloverleaf Medals Finals, the $5,000 Cloverleaf Jumpers, and the 3’ Zone 10 Medal Challenge. A few weeks later, the Halloween Championship will be Oct. 23-27 at the Murieta Equestrian Center in Rancho Murieta. Classes will include the $15,000 “Bubba” Grand Prix, the $6,000 Haunted Hunter Derby, a Carolyn Day Horsemanship Special, and the wildly fun $2,500 Mounted Costume Contest! The Anaheim Hills Cattle Club is offering Ranch Sorting on Sunday afternoons at 1 p.m. They have a covered arena for year-round events, and the AHCC offers discounted sorting runs with membership in the club.
