SAN MARCOS– The Southern California Professional Horseshow Association (SCPHA) kicked off its six-show 2014 circuit Jan 4-5 at Deer Springs Equestrian. With 80-degree weather and more than 100 horses, Club President Clarissa Czuprynski says the single-day format is proving attractive.

“This circuit is gaining strong participation because the format is easier on the exhibitor’s wallet, and everybody always has a great time!,” she said. “The showing opportunities that SCPHA provides horse owners is remarkable — many SCPHA shows also offer AQHA and APHA pointed events.”

The SCPHA class line-up includes an entire All Ages walk-jog division, as well as a slate of halter, showmanship and reining classes and a variety of rail classes including English Pleasure and Equitation, Western Riding, Horsemanship, Pleasure, and Trail. New this year are Ranch Horse Pleasure and Western Dressage.

Since 1957, SCPHA has offered horse enthusiasts of Southern California an All-Breed Open venue to experience the thrill of showing horses, offering classes for all levels of horse and rider, The schedule of events is on horsetrader.com, as well as on the SCPHA website: www.SCPHA.net
