BYARS, Okla. — The National Reining Breeders Classic announced on Jan. 31 the judging lineup for its 2015 show, scheduled for April 13-19 at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, Texas.
Donnie Bricker, Corey Hendrickson, Andi Paul, Butch Carse and Ed Bricker will judge the Classic Preliminaries. Also officiating at the massive event will Steve Ross, Charlie Smith, J.D. Roberson, Dave Belson, Reid Fadcy and B.J. Ribeiro.
The NRBC has made judge selection a matter for the exhibitors to decide in past years. Each fall, a questionnaire is sent to former exhibitors and they are asked for their selection of judges. Judges are hired for the event based on the cumulative preference. That tradition continues at the show, itself, where qualifiers choose the judges for the big-money Classic finals.
“During the draw party, each finalist is given a ballot to choose the finals judges,” explained NRBC Secretary-Treasurer Cheryl Magoteaux Cody. “Judges are selected based on the preference of the finals qualifiers.”
The National Reining Breeders Classic is the most successful stallion incentive program in reining history. The 2015 event will be the 18th annual show, and the NRBC payout has grown to exceed over a million dollars yearly.
