WESTERN WEEK  April 21-24
On Saturday night at 7 p.m., the Night Of the Horse Show is not a competition, but rather a family-oriented evening with amazing equestrian acts. This year, the Del Mar National Horse Show will present Sylvia Zerbini, a ninth-generation performer who has captivated audiences across the globe since the age of five. Her father, a wild animal trainer, and her mother, a famous trapeze artist, allowed Sylvia to ultimately nurture her true passion, working
with her family’s horses. Blessed with a gift for reading horses, Sylvia professionally trained and performed with horses at liberty while still a young teen.

The former star of the acclaimed Cavalia, Sylvia orchestrates the movements of eight to 10 gorgeous white Arabians, a truly memorable and mesmerizing theatrical performance.

Also performing
*2012 Supreme Extreme Mustang Makeover Legends Division Champion and Fan Favorite, Bobby Kerr. A consummate horseman, Bobby has trained and successfully competed wild Mustangs, reining horses, cutting horses, and working cow horses. We doubt you’ve ever seen a horse ride in a car or cut a mechanical cow!

*Enrique Martinez, the recipient of the Mexican President’s Award for Excellence in the production of Aztec Fire!, where he commands a group of elaborately costumed, classically trained horsemen as they reenact the fierce Aztec warriors of 12th century Mexico. Enrique will bring this colorful performance to Night of the Horse along with other performances demonstrating his classical blend of European training. Enrique learned from master of horsemanship in Germany, Holland, Spain, and Mexico. Each influenced his exclusive blend of classical European training. He was classically trained by Don Joaquin Miranda Goncalves, the Master to the Portuguese Royal Family.

*The Victorian Roses Ladies Riding Society, a reenactment group from Southern California, that takes you back in time to the elegant and refined Victorian era of the 1880s. These ladies, resplendent in their historically accurate, colorful lace covered gowns, gloves, hats, and parasols, symbolize the romance of the day as they ride immaculately turned out horses and drive exquisitely restored, authentic carriages, all adorned with colorful roses. They ride in numerous parades, including the Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA, rodeos, and also participate in old west shows, costume contests, and other events. Proceeds from appearances help support a San Diego based horse rescue group. See website: http://www.delmarnational.com/western.php
