HUNTINGTON BEACH—Reiners from the Californai Reining Horse Association head as far west as they can each August—to the Huntington Beach Central Park Equestrian Center, to be exact—for a Slide on the Beach. The popular one-day show Aug. 4 offered a jackpot reining as well as CRHA and NRCHA classes in a (cooler) change of scenery.

In the Open Division, Bridgette Neese took Allison Williams’s Hesa Smokin Edition to the title, with Daphne Foran winning the Novice Horse Open Championship on Zins Rowdy Whiz.

In the Limited Open, co-champions were Karleigh Farmer on Stephen Silver’s Roocat and Luis Torres aboard Mobster Gold Gun, owned by Suzanne Farris.

In Non Pro action, Casey Bibbs was a star, winning titles in Non Pro, Intermediate Non Pro and Limited Non Pro divisions on her Spooks For The Chics. The Primetime Non Pro crown went to Jeanne Rosenberg on her Some Kind Of Smart, and the Green As Grass Champion was Tracy King aboard her Ze Classic Cat.

In Rookie Division classes, Charmain Sauro and Zins Rowdy Whiz captured the Level 2 Rookie Championship and also was a co-champion in the Rookie Level 1 with Riley Cachat on her Custom Cody Whiz. Cachat also was the Youth 13-under Champion.

Emma Dillon won the Youth 14-18 title on her WheresMySparkingSpots, and Faith Rankin captured the Short Stirrup Championship on TR Guns Afire.

The CRHA season culminates this month with its CRHA Challenge Show Oct. 23-27 at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center
