Fred DeBoer Friesian Estate Carriage Auction is Nov. 16

The immaculate carriage collection of Fred De Boer Royal Friesians will be at auction Saturday, Nov. 16. A dispersal of coaches, carriages, harness, livery and stable equipment will take place in an online and live auction in Tulare managed by Martin Auctioneers, in conjunction with the Martella & Black Auction Company of Hanford. An estate preview is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on auction day, with auction start time at 11. Absentee and phone bids will be accepted.

Fred De Boer was one of the founding fathers of Friesian Horse Association of North America and a FHANA Hall of Fame member. He had a dream of bringing his native horse, the Friesian, to the United States in the 1980s, and he went on to accomplish his dream and established himself as one of the top Friesian breeders on the West Coast. SCRCHA show schedule set for 2025…

With this year’s Southern California Reined Cow Horse Association season in the books, the SCRCHA announced its year-end Awards and Christmas Party will take place Friday, Dec. 6, at Green Acres Ranch in Temecula. (Check out the SCRCHA salute to its 2024 Champions on Page 7). The club also has announced its slate of five shows for 2025 — which will be here before we know it!: Jan. 3-5 at Tucalota Creek Ranch; March 14-15 (schooling show) at Tucalota Creek Ranch; May 9-11 at Green Acres Ranch; July 4-6 at Green Acres Ranch; and Sept. 5-7 at Green Acres Ranch. Hit the trail this Christmas!…

Griffith Park in Los Angeles will be the place to be Dec. 15 for a three-hour Christmas Ride through the hills, put on by Equestrian Trails, Inc. Get festive and deck out your horse and yourself! Prizes will be awarded for Best Costiume and more.

Riders are asked to reserve their spot with ETI by Thursday, Dec. 12, either by texting their RSVP to (818) 698-6200, emailing it to office@etinational.com, or by regular mail to ETI, P.O. Box 920668, Sylmar, CA 91392. Cost of the ride is $10 per person, and there will be hamburgers, potato salad and dessert served at the lunch stop. Prepay to get a poker hand with an extra card (with lunch) for $15. Releases must be completed before the ride. If you are not a member of ETI, there will be a single event fee of $10 for single riders or $20 for a family. Riders will meet by 9 a.m. at the Martinez Arena, and be in-saddle by 9:50.
