WCRH holds a 4-judge AQHA show

TEMECULA — The Ranch Horse Celebration was held on March 20-22 at the California Ranch Company. This was a milestone show for its producers, West Coast Ranch Horse, headquartered in Temecula, as it marked the first four-judge AQHA show put on by the club.

Despite an unseasonably warm first day of the show, exhibitors came out in force and enjoyed double-judged WCRH classes counting toward the club’s Ranch Horse Classic buckle series. They also earned AQHA points under four judges, including Jeff Allen, Murray Griggs, Jill Griggs and Clay MacLeod.

WCRH, now in its seventh year of offering high quality ranch horse shows in Southern California, was thrilled to gain approval from the Pacific Coast Quarter Horse Association (PCQHA) as well as have the show be designated as a PCQHA year-end point and Buckle Bonanza program show.

Trainers and exhibitors throughout the region came out to participate and riders came from as far as Arizona and Northern California. As usual, the club provided tons of awards, division buckles and fun classes and competitions for attendees such rail stakes classes, a balloon toss and a frisbee competition. The show is scheduled to return in 2027 on March 19-21 in beautiful Temecula Wine Country.

WCRH’s next show will be April 11 at Green Acres Ranch. The club will also be offering another summer buckle series, an AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse series, its popular year-end show, The Ranch Horse Rendezvous, and a clinic with Bud Lyon, multiple AQHA world champion ranch rider, on May 22-23 at Tucalota Creek Ranch in Temecula.

All remaining Ranch Horse Classic series shows are AQHA special events with Working Western Rail, Ranch Riding and Ranch Trail in addition to offering the popular WCRH all breed classes. The club proudly offers five AQHA-approved events throughout the year, allowing exhibitors to qualify for the AQHA world show from Southern California in all three events for the first time in years.
